Sen. Roberts and Rep. Reedy Announce Major Grant for McEwen to Improve Sewer System

(NASHVILLE), September 15, 2020 – State Senator Kerry Roberts (R-Springfield) and Representative Jay Reedy (R-Erin) announced today that McEwen will receive $490,001 in a Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) to make improvements to the sewer system.

Roberts and Reedy made the announcement after receiving the information from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (ECD). 

“We are pleased this money has been funded to take care of the needed projects for sewer treatment,” said Sen. Roberts and Rep. Reedy in a joint statement.  “These projects are important to the safety and welfare of our citizens. We appreciate the local officials in McEwen for securing these funds and the department’s attention to this needed project.”

The funds were allocated under a procedure authorized by the Tennessee General Assembly.  ECD administers the grant program based on priorities set at the local level where community needs are best known.
